Continuing to create awareness in the entire Europe on the need for a sustainable environment, the Royal awards for Sustainability invites school children, art and design students and creative citizens from 31 European countries to visually express their ideas, thoughts and visions on possible sustainable environmental improvements for the future. The best posters from the 31 countries will be exhibited as part of an international contest
in Copenhagen, the environmental capitol of Europe. The 31 countries invited are - or will be - members of the European Environment Agency in the near future.
If you are interested in participating in the European 2003 poster contest on tomorrow’s environment please contact us. If you want to participate in the youth contest (9-15) you can also contact your local organizer, if you have one.
The ContestEach contest will consist of two rounds - a local national contest (if possible) and an international contest. The two national winners from the 31 invited countries will all participate in the European finals, which are to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark during the summer of 2003.The Danish and Swedish contributions will also be competing for the Øresund regional prize. The submitted entries can cover any one of the following topics:
The contest itself is divided into two concurrent competitions - a youth contest ranging from the age of 9 to 15 (primary and lower-secondary students) and a contest from age 16 and above. The 16 and above contest is primarily targeted at art and design students, but is also open to others.

Materials: The final edition of the poster must be submitted either on paper or on CD-rom (TIFF or JPEG).
Please includePlease state your name(s), age, address, country, telephone number and if available an e-mail address, when you submit the final edition of the poster. You are also required to enclose a short comment on the vision and idea behind the poster (1-6 lines).
Good advice on poster productionThink big, make it simple, make it catch the eye, express the message clearly and use contrasts.
Legal StatusBeing a non-profit organization the Royal Awards for Sustainability can not pay royalties to the artists behind the posters used in any other communicative activities.
